Instead of saying “You’re fat and you’re ugly.”, I’m going to say “You are the person who helped your mum out, who saved your best mate, who lives with an illness, but keeps on going.”

Kristen Stewart inside the Met’s Costume Institute Gala (2012)

What are you thinking, Amy?

The question I’ve asked most often during our marriage, if not out loud, if not to the person who could answer. I suppose these questions stormcloud over every marriage: What are you thinking? How are you feeling? Who are you? What have we done to each other? What will we do?

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

"By fairest blood it was done and only by fairest blood is it undone.. You can’t have my heart.”

morning haze over south beach from a fire in the everglades.

there’s this story
about a girl who meets a boy
when she’s just brand new

and like most girls who meet boys
she falls in love and it makes her old

and when in the dark
he grows fangs and claws
like the young boys do

she loves him anyway
because that’s what strong girls do

and when she dies for him
right there in his young boy arms
her life ends but the story goes on

because like most boys who meet girls
when they’re just brand new

they end up writing this story

and it’s with the blood that spills
from their young girl mouths
that stain all those pages pink

like the blush in their cheeks
and their breasts like roses

smelling so sweetly of love
and of lovely death
because there’s no such thing

as fate
or werewolves
or life free from cruelty

there is only love and pain
and tears that shine as bright
as silver tipped arrows

because this is what young girls do
and this is how strong girls die
